Each year the Berkeley Springs Junior Order United American Mechanics #117 awards a scholarship to a deserving student. The student must meet the academic requirements as well as being the child or grandchild of a member of Council #117.

This year the recipient was Mystic Miller, daughter of member Harry ‘Bucky’ Miller and Retha Miller. Mystik will be attending Dartmouth University this fall.

Qualifying for this award has been a Miller family tradition, his sons and other daughters have each been recipients. Dr. Magic Miller was the first, then Blair and Marti. Marti also was selected and received the State Scholarship from the West Virginia Junior Order United American Mechanics State Scholarship Committee.

The Junior Order feels that helping deserving young students achieve their goals and attend college is an investment in our Country’s future.
